Received this e-mail today from Senator Jeff Merkley (D. OR) in support of Secretary of State Jason Kander's (D. MO) U.S. Senate campaign:

It’s going to be a tough race, no question about it, but Jason has what it takes.
It’s early, but if we’re going to take back the Senate, we need strong leaders like Jason standing up in tough races like the one in Missouri.
After serving in the US Army in Afghanistan, Jason was elected to the Missouri state legislature. In 2012, he was elected Missouri’s Secretary of State – and he is the youngest statewide elected official in the entire country.Jason has been a champion for reforming the campaign finance laws in Missouri – something we could use a whole lot more of with the Koch Brothers and the special interests flooding our elections.
He’s also worked tirelessly to make government work for everyone, demanding stronger ethics laws to hold leaders accountable and fighting for voting rights to ensure that everyone has an equal voice.
We need Jason Kander in the U.S. Senate. Take a moment to watch his campaign video and learn more about him.
I’m confident you’ll be as impressed with him as I am.
Jeff
