Did you know that Former President Jimmy Carter (GA) and Former Vice President Al Gore (TN) are, as yet, still uncommitted super delegates? I find it especially surprising that Gore, VP to Bill Clinton, is uncommitted. To me, that speaks volumes.
As a matter of fact, 194 of the 715 Democratic super delegates are still uncommitted as of April 14, 2016. That’s 27.1%!
If Bernie Sanders were to get all of those 194* super delegates, that would bring his total to 233 (to Hillary Clinton’s 481). It would give Sanders 32.6% to Clinton’s 67.3% in the super delegate count; still not great, but much closer than the current 5.5% to 67.3%. It would also pretty much completely wipe-out the current 214 PLEDGED delegate lead that Clinton has.
I am unsure if any of Sanders’ current super delegates were previous Clinton supporters or if they were all previously uncommitted. There is also still one super delegate listed for Martin O’Malley, which is kind of sad.
