Today is the day progressives from across the country rally to support one of our nation's greatest champions, Wisconsin’s Russ Feingold.

Russ is running a strong grassroots campaign against one of the Koch Brother’s favorite Republican Senators, Ron Johnson. The Cook Political Report calls this race a "Toss Up," and Sen. Johnson has the backing of three SuperPACs.

If we’re going to make our bold progressive vision a reality, we need to take back the Senate with strong leaders like Russ Feingold. When I got to the Senate, Russ stood out as one of the most fearless progressives in Congress. 

Russ was one of just 14 Senators to vote against the so-called Defense of Marriage Act in 1996, and spoke up for marriage equality in 2006. He was the only Senator to vote against the PATRIOT Act. He opposed NAFTA and other “free trade” agreements that threaten U.S. jobs.  And he’s been a consistent Climate Champion throughout his career – a fierce ally in the fight to keep fossil fuels in the ground.
